BAPTA is 1,2-bis(o-aminophenoxy)ethane-N,N,N′,N′-tetraacetic acid, which is a calcium-specific aminopolycarboxylic acid. It is selective calcium chelator with greater affinity for Ca2+ than Mg2+. .
