A hydrochloride salt of Selegiline, which is a levorotatory acetylenic derivative of phenethylamine with antiparkinsonian effect. It is a selective, irreversible inhibitor of Type B monoamine oxidase. Selegiline has no anti-Parkinson effects of its own and must always be given in combination with levodopa/carbidopa.
